Pelargonium Prettypinkium...

OK, technically probably not the real Latin name...

... but this gorgeous Mårbacka Pelargonium, which was "smuggled" into the country in a certain Swenglish suitcase last week, makes me weak at the knees with its pink prettiness. Not a huge fan of the pelargonium in general, I have however become besotted with this particular kind, purely because of its gentle colour. My favourite pink scarf from Turkey is big enough to serve as a small blanket, matching the colour of the pelargonium very well.

Today, the first -and unexpectedly - sunny day after days of damp drizzle and gloomy skies, I just had to bring out the lingonberry juice (what would I do without my big blue and yellow furniture store supplying us exile Swedes with delicatessen from the home land...?) and drink it as I drunk every last ray of welcome sunshine.

Inauguration time also for the hasty French-vintage-flour-sack-lookalike-linen cushion project from the previous night, which, I admit, was the result of a Swenglish lady with limited patience competing with her desire to create a cushion resembling those beautiful ones seen in blogs and shops.

The letters and numbers worked OK, even though the numbers ought to have been in older style font, but when it came to masking off the lines on each side, I ignored all advice to NOT use a sponge that was too wet, as the colour might "bleed" under the masking tape... And voilà, to nobody's surprise, the lines bled and are far from straight...

And yes, in a moment of complete and unchallenged narcissism,
I used my own initials and birth year...

Even though my plan is to one day make a small side table to put where this bench is now, using the rusty iron stands leaning against the wall at the moment, I must say I enjoy this spot to sit and contemplate the wonders of the universe...

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments - they are a lovely gift, each and every one. And with this loooong blog entry, I wish you all a lovely Sunday!

Tomorrow, it is Turkey time...
